Version 2026-09-02. This agreement applies when you go live as a Host on Talko, in addition to the Terms of Service and Community Standards.
You Host as an independent, self-employed individual. You choose when to go live, your topic, your rate and which calls to accept. Talko is a platform, not your employer, agent or client. You are responsible for your own tax and for complying with laws that apply to you.
Guests pay per connected minute at the rate you set (between £0.10 and £10.00 per minute). Talko deducts a platform fee of 20% from each call and credits the balance to your Talko earnings. Earnings clear 7 days after each call, after which you can withdraw them to your bank through Stripe Connect. Stripe collects and holds your bank and identity details; Talko does not. Withdrawals start at £10.
You must not ask or allow Guests to pay you outside Talko, share contact details to move the conversation elsewhere, or arrange to meet. Doing so ends your Hosting and may forfeit pending earnings.
You will follow the Community Standards: no sexual services, no nudity in photos, no illegal activity, no harassment, and no claiming professional qualifications you do not hold. Conversations must stay within your chosen category. Guests can report and block you; Talko reviews reports and may suspend accounts.
Your profile photo must be a real, recent photo of you with your face clearly visible. Talko screens photos automatically and by hand, and may reject or remove photos and profiles that do not meet the rules.
Guests may be anonymous to you; they are never anonymous to Talko. Talko does not record calls. You must not record calls without the Guest’s clear consent.
If a Guest disputes a payment with their bank, earnings from related calls may be held or reversed while it is investigated. Talko may withhold earnings connected to fraud, rule breaches or chargebacks.
While you are live you are expected to have the app open and to answer calls. Talko takes you offline automatically if the app stops responding, and may limit Hosting for repeated missed calls.
Talko may update this agreement; you will be asked to accept the new version before Hosting again. You may stop Hosting at any time and delete your account once earnings are withdrawn. Talko may end your Hosting for breaches of this agreement, the Terms or the Community Standards.
Acceptance is recorded in the app with the version number and time.
